Regular coffee wins out with most coffee lovers over specialized drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, or cold brew. Traditional iced coffee generally ranks higher than lattes and similar special drinks, but cold brew is near the bottom when it comes to most popular beverages among coffee drinkers.

The most popular specialty coffee drink is the cappuccino, which is slightly less popular than regular coffee. Lattes and mochas are also high on the list. The least popular espresso-based drink is the Americano, which is a combination of espresso and hot water. However, let the record show that the Americano is also one of the least-tried specialty drinks among coffee lovers.  

The Younger Generation Is Embracing Iced Coffee

You may think that a coffee drinker is a coffee drinker no matter their age. Still, there are some noticeable divides between the preferences of coffee lovers over 45 years old and under 45. 

The most significant difference is iced coffee. Iced coffee drinks are twice as popular among coffee drinkers under 45, showing that iced coffee is a more trendy beverage than other options on the coffee shop menu.
