While this year’s graduating class has had numerous challenges with recent world events, Torke Family Coffee Roasters wants to help remove one of those burdens by helping finance students’ higher education dreams. 

A long-time supporter of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) Education Foundation, Torke has held the title sponsorship for the WRA Education Foundation annual golf outing for several years. However, due to the pandemic, the golf outing was canceled. But Torke wasn’t going to let the event being canceled or the pandemic stop them from giving back to help students. Torke was proud to donate thousands of dollars to help fulfill the amount the foundation missed raising at the annual golf event. 

“We felt that although the WRA is not having a significant fundraiser, we still wanted to support education within our industry,” Said Torke Coffee President, Jay Torke. “Cultivating the next generation of professionals is important to our industry, community, and the future of our economy.”  

Still wanting to give more to support local students, Torke gave an unrestricted gift to the Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) Scholarship Foundation, which will go towards funding the 200+ scholarships the foundation awards annually.

“Our customers continually inspire us by their fortitude,” Jay Torke said. “Giving back to this generation of students that have shown such resilience during uncertain times was an honor.”
