At Torke Family Coffee Roasters, giving back through our “Every Cup Gives” initiative is a core part of who we are as a family-owned and operated business. We take business very personally, which means we get to know our customers and learn about the causes and charities that are close to their hearts and impacting their communities. Those causes become our causes, and we passionately pursue giving back to them. Recently, a charity that has been closely impacting our community is the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund, fighting childhood cancer. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate International Youth Day than giving back to this great cause.

Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer, and 95% of them who win the fight will still have other life-long effects. With your help, we’d like to change that. Starting August 12, 2020, on International Youth Day, we will be donating a portion of all proceeds from our Classic Roast collection to the MACC Fund.

The MACC Fund was co-founded in 1976 by Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Famer Jon McGlocklin, and Milwaukee Bucks Broadcaster Eddie Doucette after his son was diagnosed with Leukemia. Since then, the MACC Fund has raised over $70 million in the fight against childhood cancer and related blood disorders, and the five-year survival rate of childhood cancer has increased from only 20% to 80%!

While this is significant progress, there is still work to do. Since 1980, only three drugs have been approved for the treatment of childhood cancer, and 12% of children diagnosed with cancer will still not survive. We believe that together we can find a cure. By shopping our Classic Roast collection, you can help find the cure and make a difference in the lives of the more than 40,000 children undergoing cancer treatments each year, and the over 15,000 that will get diagnosed each year.
